Alone like a wolf

Here is my work for "ART CONTEST - THE LAVENDER PROJECT: draw Lumen or/and Jim in your own style" lukewolfy.deviantart.com/journ… organized by
I decided to take part in this contest because I saw the prizes and couldn't resist the temptation!! Besides, I was curious to see this particular group, formed to create a story about the protagonist Jim Roses (the same character you can see in my work).

I chose this character because his psychological characteristics affected me very much: he "is a quite and shy guy, who doesn't like to be surrounded by a lot of people. He is a sceptical person and tends to rethink conversations before they even started. But he is still able to show quite a temper if someone provokes him or treat him like a child. He has got a serious heart defect, which is why he avoids all kinds of activity. Because he is more the kind of the lonely wolf, he hasn't many friends and is an outsider in school."

So I decided to make a work that reflected his inner feelings: because of that cardiac illness, if I was him, I would feel empty and lost too, with that sensation of having very little time. The loneliness would be my only mate and all what surrounds me would be for me an useless and banal illusion.

For this I thought to do a work half drawing half painting, in which Jim is the only one who knows to exist or at least he believe (for this he is the only one to be colored), while the rest is all white to give an idea of something phantasmagoric, as if he was in a kind of illusion.
I tried to realize the setting and the people with the same chiaroscuro tecnique of (an example lukewolfy.deviantart.com/art/d… ), obviously I'm not of his level but it's a good beginning ...
What I liked so much is the facial expression of Jim: a face contorted by the bitterness of the life and by the loneliness and conscious of his destiny.
